Product Overview
Metallized paper includes two types: 12μm metallized PET film laminated paper and direct metallized lightweight coated paper. It features a brilliant metallic mirror or satin finish.

Two Structure Options
• 12μm/12microns Metallized PET Laminated Paper: Metallic layer is on PET film, laminated onto base paper. Higher barrier, more durable metallic layer, resistant to scratching.
• Direct Metallized Lightweight Coated Paper: Aluminum layer vacuum-deposited directly onto LWC substrate. No PET film, more recyclable, lighter weight, vivid metallic effect.
Stunning Metallic Visual Effect
Mirror silver/gold metallic base. Printed colors present unique metallic luster, far more eye-catching than ordinary paper.
Customizable Surface Finish
Gloss mirror effect or soft matte metallic finish available. Gravure printing on metallized background creates layered luxury visuals.
Different Barrier Performance
PET laminated version offers better moisture and oxygen barrier. Direct metallized type is suitable for normal gift packaging with recyclable priority.

Processing with Spot Color Printing/Embossing
Sampling is strongly recommended for metallized paper orders. Small trial batches and bulk orders are accepted.
Standard lead time: 25–30 working days. Rush orders subject to production schedule.

Printing Quality & Visual Performance
Metallic Base Tone
Bright mirror silver as standard; custom tinted metallic available. Printed colors will reflect the silver underlayer, pre-production color proof is mandatory.
Graphic Performance
Solid graphics, logos and large artwork look spectacular. Ultra-fine small text requires pre-print testing.
Available Finishes
Embossing, water-based varnish. Extra lamination is optional for PET laminated type.
Batch Consistency
Direct metallized paper has minor natural metallic shimmer variation between batches; confirmed pre-production sample proof before mass production.

Eco‑Friendly & Sustainable Packaging Solution
12μm metallized PET laminated paper: Composite structure. Not fully recyclable in some recycling streams. Best for high barrier requirement.
Direct metallized LWC paper: Aluminum thin layer coated directly on paper, plastic-free structure, higher recyclability, preferred for EU sustainable packaging requirements.
Water-based eco ink, non-toxic, odorless, heavy-metal free, PFAS free compliant with EU PPWR
Water-based varnish option to protect metallized surface without extra plastic film
Production scraps collected and recycled according to different material structures

FAQ & Quality Solutions
Metallic layer scratches or peeling
PET laminated type has better abrasion resistance. Direct metallized paper is more vulnerable to friction; water-based protective coating is recommended. Avoid sharp friction during converting and packing.
Color shift over metallic background
Color appearance differs from printing on white paper. Physical printed sample on actual metallized paper for client to confirm before mass production.
Poor ink adhesion
Optimize ink formula for metallized surface. Conduct ink adhesion test at pre-production stage.
Size Deviation & Uneven Cutting
Automatic slitter and sheeter equipment. Dimension sampling inspection for every batch. Tolerance controlled within ±0.5mm.
Metallic mottling on direct metallized paper
Minor uneven shimmer is an inherent feature of vacuum metallizing process. We will notify clients and confirm sample approval in advance.
Odor Issue
Low VOC inks and coatings are used. Finished products are ventilated to eliminate residual smell.

Shipping & Logistics Recommendations
Packed 5-layer reinforced cartons and paper corner protectors against compression, moisture and dirt. Store & transport in dry ventilated space. Avoid direct sunlight, rain and high humidity. No violent dropping or dragging. Stack height ≤1.5m to prevent deformation. Bulk orders support pallet packing and separate shipment, ideal for long-distance sea & air freight. Complete compliant certificates provided for import customs clearance. Please inspect goods upon arrival. 24-hour after-sales support for damage and quality issues.
